Culture learning in a daily space of kitchen: the case of Korean digital kitchen

Abstract The rapid advancement of technology has allowed computer-assisted language learning (CALL) to have made inroads in the area pedagogy for and culture learning. While majority studies used online virtual environments learning, very little attention been paid a real world environment. This study is based on digital kitchen where students can learn foreign language, cuisine at same time through cooking tasks. Learning cultural aspects be properly realised via because daily activity provides window into culture, users with opportunities directly encounter target themselves tasting. 48 international participants conducted two sessions, one using objects other classroom by looking typical pictures/photos textbook. A range data sources were employed, such as questionnaires, semi-structured interviews video-observations answer research question. It was found that learned better when direct engagement handling actual items than simply photos. contributes development environment innovative technology.
